A vision of creating Australia’s first health retreat was all it took for retail baron Mark Foy to begin his wellness journey. Constructed in 1903, the same year Foy successfully applied to change the township name to Medlow Bath, The Hydro Majestic Hotel opened its doors in July 1904 — complete with a steam-driven generator imported from Germany and working electricity (four whole days before Sydney). Having attracted guests from around Australia and the world, including Dame Nellie Melba and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, the hotel was also once turned into a hospital for American casualties from the battles of the Coral Sea and South Pacific.

- Daily sparkling wine breakfast comprises a full buffet breakfast and a glass of sparkling wine. Breakfast is served in the Belgravia Lobby Lounge from 7am to 10am.
- The high tea experience consists of a selection of finger sandwiches, homemade pastries, scones with cream and jam, and your choice of tea or coffee. Experience must be booked prior to arrival; please contact the hotel directly to book.

- The three-course dinner upgrade is available from 6pm to 8pm daily at The Wintergarden. Reservations must be made with the hotel prior to arrival. The bottle of wine is a choice between a house white, red or sparkling, or this inclusion can be exchanged for sparkling water, soft drinks or juice.
- The history tour runs for 45 minutes, and is available daily from 11am to 1pm.
