Blackout Dates & Surcharges: A non-refundable surcharge per room, per night may apply, payable at the time of booking. Dates and prices are identified in the Booking Calendar. Blackout dates may apply.

7-Day Change of Mind ‘No Questions Asked’ Refund Guarantee: Things don’t always work out. Our 7-day Change of Mind Guarantee is there to help. Bookings (except for cruise bookings, flights and deposit fee, if applicable, which are subject to the cancellation terms of the relevant supplier) may be cancelled with a full refund provided that cancellation occurs strictly within 7 days from the date of purchase and provided that the cancellation is made no less than 14 days prior to the check-in date. Excludes flight and service fee, if applicable.

  • Cancellations outside of the 7-Day Change of Mind period will not be provided, except as required by Australian Consumer Law, your local law or as otherwise provided for in the Fine Print.

Flexible Cancellation: You can cancel your booking for credit up until 21 days prior to the original check-in date. This can be done via self-service in your ‘My Escapes’ account. Your credit will be valid for 12 months from the date of cancellation. Credits are not transferable and cannot be redeemed for cash. Excludes service fee, if applicable.

Please note this does not apply to flights booked with us. Flight fulfilment is provided by the airline(s) selected at the time of finalising the booking. For your air travel, you are bound by the terms and conditions and fare rules of the selected airline(s).

Date Changes: If you need to amend your booking, you can self-service unlimited date changes in your ‘My Escapes’ account up until 21 days before your original check-in date. If you can’t find a suitable date, or still need further assistance, please contact our 24/7 customer service team. Subject to availability and surcharges.

  • Dining inclusions do not include drinks (unless otherwise stated). Menus are subject to change without notice.
  • Daily breakfast is served a la carte or buffet-style at The Palms restaurant.
  • Spa treatments are valid for a head or shoulder massage at J Wellness Centre. Pre-booking is required.
  • Daily lunch or dinner may be served buffet or a la carte at The Palms restaurant.
  • Daily one hour of free-flow cocktails is served at the pool bar from 4pm to 5pm. Includes local beer, house cocktails and soft drinks.
  • One-time three-course seafood dinner (select packages only) is served at S.H.A.C.K.

Return Airport Transfers Inclusions & Fine Print (select packages only)

  • Includes: A return airport transfer to and from Bandaranaike International Airport (CMB), basic/sufficient English-speaking driver, airport parking fee, toll fee and one bottle of water per person.
  • You will be required to update your transfer information after making your booking. Transfer information includes:
    • Flight number and arrival time
    • Child seats requirements
    • Number of pieces of luggage including large items
  • You will receive an automated confirmation of your transfer when booking, with a final confirmation sent to you within seven days of your nominated travel date.
  • Transfers can accommodate up to three luggage pieces or suitcases (sedan) or six luggage pieces or suitcases (van) per vehicle. Fees may apply for excess baggage.
  • A complimentary infant or child seat can be booked each way or guests may bring their own.
  • The driver will wait for a delay of up to one hour. After that point, the transfer will be considered cancelled. It is recommended to have your phone available on arrival should your driver need to contact you.
  • Please note that airport transfers are not provided or organised by the resort directly.
  • Please note, additional guests are not entitled to airport transfers.

My husband and I recently stayed at Taj Bentota Resort & Spa in Sri Lanka, and it was a truly wonderful experience. From the moment we arrived, we were impressed by the excellent hospitality and the attentive care provided by all the staff. Being pregnant, I received extra attention, and everyone went out of their way to ensure my comfort, which I deeply appreciated. A special mention to Chef Jasver Singh , who personally came to me and offered to prepare anything I liked, despite the wide variety already available in the buffet. He even prepared special dishes just for me—a truly thoughtful gesture. The food overall was delicious, with an impressive variety and live cooking stations that made each meal enjoyable. The staff’s warm behavior and attention to detail made our stay very memorable. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a relaxing and luxurious getaway. We had such a fantastic experience that we will definitely be returning!

We spent two wonderful weeks at this hotel and cannot speak highly enough about our experience, especially about the service. From the very first day until the last, we felt warmly welcomed and incredibly well taken care of. The level of service was outstanding – every staff member went out of their way to ensure that we had the perfect holiday. A very special thank you goes to Janaka from the gym, whose friendliness and professionalism made every workout a pleasure. Our room boy Chandimal was simply amazing – always attentive, polite, and making sure our room was spotless and comfortable. At the pool, Kannangara and Disanayaka were absolutely fantastic – always ready with a smile, helpful, and making sure we had everything we needed to relax and enjoy our time. And also the entire breakfast and dinner team did an absolutely great job! It is this kind of genuine warmth and care that makes a stay truly unforgettable. We left with beautiful memories and the feeling of having been part of a big family! We are looking forward to coming back!

Taj Bentota was one of the best hotels we stayed. Right from the moment we entered the hotel, the staff were warm and friendly. The service was outstanding in all areas. The hotel rooms are upgraded and are very nice. The food options for breakfast and the quality of food were excellent. If you are into Indian food, there are tons of options for breakfast and later as well, with great quality. Staff were caring and helpful. The pool is great with a stunning view of the beach. The only downside is that there is no private beach, as it is not allowed by law, it seems, in that area. Beach access is good, though, as you can walk into the beach area from the property. They even gave toys for kids to play in the sand. All in all, a very good hotel for anyone planning to visit Bentota. Best value for your money! Some sections of the hotel are being upgraded, and some of them may feel old as it is an old hotel, but I guess it is due to the age of the property, not much in Kids activities room.

Great location, with views over the beach and direct access to the beach. Excellent food quality and options at all meals, in particular the chinese restaurant was our favourite. Breakfast and dinner service made extra special by Gihani and Ravindra making us very welcome and ensuring the kids were always happy with the food. A hotel dress code would be appreciated to avoid guests wearing pyjamas to the dining hall as this really not what you expect at a 5 star hotel. Clearer signage and queuing ettiqute at the breakfast buffet would also keep the service running smoother for all guests. The hotel was under renovation during our stay, some parts were not accessible, hopefully these renovations bring the rooms and other areas of the hotel up-to date. Our room was very large for a family room although in need of updating, especially the bathroom. All requests and reservation queries dealth with very well by the front desk by Nilusha anf by our room porter Chamith. Pool and gym aread very nice and clean, good pool activities by the resident gym instructor. Overall a grrat stay and location, can only imagine it will be better when the reservations are complete.
