Voucher valid for one person
The minimum age for this course is 12 years. Those aged 16 years or over are eligible for the General Boat License. A Restricted Boat Licence is available for those aged from 12 to under 16 years. Children under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult

YA Start Powerboating Certificate/NSW Boat Licence

Get your boat licence in a day! This course provides all the practical skills training and theory knowledge needed by the small boat driver and everything you require for your boat license. The course is delivered in a fun, hands on way by our team of expert instructors.
During the day you will learn to drive our rigid inflatable rescue craft.
Practical skills on the water include: High and low speed handling, handling waves, docking and lines, close quarters handling, anchoring, securing to a mooring buoy, safety equipment and checks, man overboard recovery, emergency procedures.
Powerboat theory knowledge includes: Personal equipment; parts of the boat, types of craft, engines and fuel, basic weather, buoyage and essential collision regulations (IRPCS).
The minimum age for this course is 12 years. Those aged 16 years or over are eligible for the General Boat License. A Restricted Boat Licence is available for those aged from 12 to under 16 years.
If you want a personal watercraft license to drive a jetski you MUST complete the General Boat License first.

Powerboat: RYA Level 2

This two-day course provides intensive training in the practical skills and theory knowledge needed by the small boat driver. You will learn to drive our rigid inflatable rescue craft.
RYA Powerboat Level 2 can be used to obtain a NSW Boat Licence in Australia. It is also convertible to an International Certificate of Competence which is accepted in lieu of a boat licence in many European countries.
Practical skills on the water include high and low speed handling, leaving and coming alongside, man overboard recovery, close quarters handling, anchoring, securing to a mooring buoy, handling waves, safety checks and safety equipment and emergency procedures.
Powerboat theory knowledge includes types of craft and engines, engine checks, IRPCS, basic passage planning and pilotage, use of GPS and weather.
RYA Powerboat Level 2 is recommended for anyone planning to work in the professional yachting industry. It is an essential qualification for driving a tender on a superyacht and a pre-requisite for RYA Windsurfing or Dinghy Instructor qualification.
The course begins with a briefing at the Flying Fish Sail Academy at Middle Harbour Yacht Club at 10:00 on the start date.
